It all began in 2013 when I joined the charity organization, Children of Adam. At that time, my son was just eight months old, and I felt a deep desire to give back and express my gratitude to Allah for the countless blessings bestowed upon me. Little did I know that this decision would ignite a flame within me, forever changing the trajectory of my life.
With the unwavering support of my family and friends, we organized our first charity fun day. As the event dawned, I found myself exhausted and questioning if I could handle such endeavors with a young baby. Yet, as the day unfolded, something extraordinary happened. Against all odds, we managed to raise an astounding £8000, a sum that would help feed the less fortunate. Utterly amazed, I couldn’t fathom how this was even possible.
In that moment, I turned to Allah with a heart brimming with gratitude. I recognized that it was the power of sadaqah, the act of selfless giving, that had propelled us forward. This initial taste of impact and the incredible work being done by Children of Adam captured my heart. It deepened my connection with Allah and paved the way for a journey filled with immeasurable goodness. I became a dedicated volunteer for six years, and in 2019, I officially joined the Children of Adam team.
Today, I wake up each morning with overwhelming gratitude for the opportunity to serve the ummah of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). No amount of wealth can compare to the profound joy and fulfillment that comes from dedicating oneself to the service of Allah’s creation. It is a privilege beyond measure, one that has brought me closer to Allah and opened doors I never could have imagined. I am forever grateful for this remarkable journey and the chance to make a difference in the lives of others.
